Stephen Timms MP Challenges the PM about Visa Changes

In December Stephen Timms MP asked the Prime Minister, during Prime Minister’s Questions, whether the visa changes would apply to those already in the UK renewing their visa. He also urged the Prime Minister to introduce a transition period for those living in the UK.

The question was in response to a government announcement to raise the minimum income requirement on spousal visas to £38,700, which is above the median salary for those 20-39 years of age - the period when the average British person gets married.
