RAMP Principal Raises an Oral Question to the Home Office About Asylum Accommodation

On 25th November RAMP Principal Tony Vaughan MP asked an Oral Question during Topical Questions to the Home Office regarding concerns raised by the National Audit Office about the purchase of asylum accommodation at Northeye, which was described as poor-quality and expensive. He inquired about the steps being taken to ensure that asylum accommodation is appropriate and provides value for money.

In response, the Minister for Border Security and Asylum, Dame Angela Eagle, noted that the National Audit Office had highlighted issues with the decision-making process and associated costs. She stated that the current Government is focused on improving efficiency by accelerating decision-making and addressing the asylum backlog to manage accommodation costs effectively.
