Our Work, Vision and Values
Vision & Values
Our vision is for a world class migration system that leads to better outcomes for all of us. Working across party and sector, we help those elected to represent us to understand the complexities of these policy areas more fully, to hear about practical and innovative solutions and to find common ground. We value trusted, open and relational dialogue; evidenced-based debate; a diversity of opinion and experience; and broad coalitions which bring together unusual allies. We believe that all of these approaches can help to establish genuine common ground and will enable better policy-making.
All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG)
RAMP provides the secretariat for the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Migration, ensuring that it is a source of well-evidenced and independent information on key migration issues. It hosts regular cross-party events and briefings, and conducts inquiries, so that parliamentarians can hear from academics, businesses, and other civil society organisations as well as directly from individuals with lived experience of the UK’s immigration system.
Policy Advisers
We work through a team of policy advisers with extensive knowledge and experience in this field. The advisers are seconded to work with politicians from different parties, and across the Commons and the Lords, and their research and briefings help parliamentarians to make regular, constructive and, where possible, collaborative contributions to political and public debates - scrutinising primary and secondary legislation, and engaging with officials.
Supporters
RAMP’s work is generously supported by a range of philanthropic donors, including those listed below. RAMP also grateful for support from Fragomen LLP and Vialto Partners, who provide legal advice, and training opportunities to our advisers and parliamentarians.
