RAMP Supports Baroness Stroud in Launching New Report by the Centre for Social Policy Studies
On 12th November, RAMP supported Baroness Stroud to launch a new report by the Centre for Social Policy Studies entitled 'No Reason For No Recourse: Why reform of ‘No Recourse to Public Funds’ conditions would be good for London and the UK.'
The report explores the significant economic contributions made by legal migrants and the challenges they face due to the NRPF condition, which limits their access to public support, despite their vital roles in sectors like healthcare and education. The research highlights the economic and social implications of this policy and offers recommendations for reform that promote fairness and reciprocity.
The launch featured a presentation of the paper's key findings, followed by a private roundtable discussion. Sir Stephen Timms, Minister of State for Social Security and Disability in the Department for Work and Pensions was also present to share his reflections.
