Tim Farron MP Asks Question on the Homes for Ukraine Scheme

On Monday 24th February, at Home Office Oral Questions, RAMP Principal Tim Farron asked a question about the Homes for Ukraine scheme.

Refugees under the scheme are not eligible for indefinite leave to remain and are on three-year visas, many of which are now nearing expiration. He highlighted that they have only a short window to apply for an 18-month extension and questioned whether this period is sufficient for Ukrainian families to plan their future, asking the Home Secretary if she would reconsider the policy.

In response, the Home Secretary Yvette Cooper affirmed the government’s continued support for the scheme, and assured that families would not be disadvantaged by the deadlines.
